I'm wooing because I finally snatched the desk from Dad's house and have assembled it in my room. I shall post with pictures later.
I disassembled and reassembled, and then put my own chair together. Then I bought a lamp. Yay! I feel so manly and accomplished.

Haha. David beat me to it. In order to have done it in a manly way, you should have:
(a) ignored any printed instructions or verbal advice,
(b) made at least one mistake – preferably breaking something, but blamed it on the inadequate instructions or advice, and
(c) not told anyone about the mistake(s), concealing any broken/damaged parts, and met any challenges by saying ‘it was flimsily made’, ‘it was like that already’ or ‘the cat did it’.
